I’m writing this post titled "Story at School #3" to support this contest and the community as a whole. This happened in my fourth or fifth year. Computer science, specifically programming, had always been taught to us by a lecturer with the unusual name Ruslana up until that point. It seemed she wanted to leave the university a few times—banks, apparently, were luring her with higher salaries. Even now, salaries in business exceed those of lecturers, but back in the ‘90s, with their wild hyperinflation, survival was especially tough. She even said she wouldn’t abandon us and would keep teaching us programming in C++. Perhaps she worked in banks on the side, but she never left the institute. How long ago that was… In our group of 24 students, there were only four guys. My friend and I were decently skilled in programming. Another guy, the group leader, also understood some things but rarely attended classes. The fourth one was completely clueless about programming. The lecturer knew I was good at the subject, so she didn’t require me to submit simple assignments. First, she understood I could easily complete them. Second, she knew I’d use the saved time productively. But toward the end of my studies, a male lecturer took over one practical course. I had no intention of doing the lab assignments—they seemed too simple to me. Instead, I studied something else during that time. As the session neared its end, the lecturer noticed I hadn’t submitted a single lab assignment. He asked when I planned to turn them in. I replied that the tasks were too easy for me, and I didn’t see the point in doing them. But he insisted, saying that if the tasks existed, they had to be completed. The girls in my group seemed to back me up, pointing out that I could easily do them, so why bother. Still, the lecturer stood his ground—I had to submit the assignments. I found myself in a tough spot. I could’ve done the assignments, but completing them, formatting them, and explaining them to the lecturer required time. And I was running out of time. I barely managed to make it to the end of the session. Of course, in this story, like in life in general, there’s no one absolutely right or wrong. There’s no pure white or pure black. On one hand, I was wrong for not planning to do those assignments. On the other hand, the lecturer was wrong for forcing me to complete tasks that were elementary for me. I was a student, and I had to do the assignments—that’s true. But the lecturer could’ve replaced them with more challenging ones to keep me interested in solving them. Я пишу цей допис Story at school #3 задля підтримки цього конкурсу і цієї спільноти в цілому. Та й мої шкільні/студентські історії швико закінчаться то ж буду згадувати якомога більш забуті історії. Це було на п'ятому чи четвертому курсі. Інформатику(програмування) у нас весь час до цього вела жінка з незвичним ім'ям Руслана. Вона здаєтьс якілька раз хотіла піти з вузу, ніби то банки її переманювали більшою зарплатнею. Це і зараз зарплата в бізнесу більша за зарплатню викладача, а тоді в часи 90х з їх шаленою гіперінфляцією виживати було важко. Вона навіть казала що нас не кине, буди приходитит нам викладати програмування на С++. Можливо овна й працювала паралельно десь в банках, але інститут не покидала. Як же давно це було.... Серед 24 студентів групи було в нас лиш четверо хлопців. я з моїм товаришем розбиралися більш менш в програмуванні, один хлопець(староста нашої групи) теж розбирався але мало відвідував навчання. А ще один був далекий від програмування))) Так от викладач знала що я розбираюся, тому не вимагала від мне розв'язку/здачі елементарних завдань. Вона по перше знала що я їх з легкістю зроблю, а по друге також знала що я зекономлений час витрачу з користю. Та під кінець навчання якусь практичну дисципліну вів викладач-чоловік. Я ж робити лабораторні роботи і не збирався, занадто легкі вони були. Я вивчав в цей час щось інше. Та коли наближався кінець сесії, викладач поцікавився що у мене не здані жодна з лабораторних робіт, запитав коли я буду їх здавати. Я сказав що вони залегкі для мене, для чого їх робити - проте викладач сказав що раз завдання є тойого треба робити. Дівчата з моєї групи здається на захист мені теж сказали шо я їх легко зроблю, то для чого їх робити. Проте викладач наполягав на своєму - роботи йому здати. І тут я потрапив у важке становище - роботи зробити то я б зробив. Але ж треба час на їх виконання, оформлення і пояснення викладачу. І я просто не встигав з часом. Ледве ледве встиг до кінця сесії. Звісно в цій історії, як і завжди в житті, нема правих на не правих. Як нема чисто білого, та чисто чорного. З одного боку я був не правий що і не планував виконувати ті роботи. А з іншого боку був не правий викладач, що змушував мене виконувти ті елементарні(для мене) задачі. Звісно я був студент - і я мусив виконувати завдання. Але викладач міг їх мені замінити на більш складні, щоб мені було цікаво їх виконувати.
