Introduction

Marriage Preparation

----- *In my country Nigeria like I made mentioned that it is a multi ethnic society which is filled with different cultures and beliefs, and for that there are differences when it comes to the bride price or marriage preparation as a whole.* ----- *In Nigeria we have the hausa, the Yoruba, the Igbo, the ibibio's and many others and I am an ibibio though in the hausa ethnic group the bride price isn't always big and sometimes the brides family would even support the groom in the ceremony because to them it is a good thing to give their daughter out for marriage.* ----- *Now the Yoruba ethnic group and the Igbo ethnic group though I do not no much about them, but I heard that the bride price depends solely on the kind or class of person that wishes to marry their daughter which might be minimum of 500,000 naira to even more than a million.* ----- *Now back to the ibibio's, the ibibio people charges the groom according to his class and capabilities for example if the groom is a civil or public servants the bride price might range from 200,000-500,000 naira (348-871 steem respectively)* ----- ![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmaKqvRXFxFNVMbrSyB87iAKQyHgZnPHWFe8doSvM136un/1711009129952.jpg) ^{Picture source}

----- *Meanwhile if the bride family is fortunate enough for the groom to come from a very rich family or the groom is a wealthy person like a rich business man, a politician or celebrities their bride price might range from 1,000,000-10,000,000 naira (1743-17432 steem respectively)* ----- *And that is for the bride price alone then when it comes to the marriage preparation some bride family always chooses to press the groom or grooms family too much with the marriage list* ----- *Some brides family might even demand for several numbers of cow, goats 🐐 and many other food stuff included on the marriage list which is another way of burdening the groom alongside the bride price* ---- *So you see marriage in our country isn't a child's play that you can just decide to wake up one day and embarked on, because most bride family are always heartless while some always understand and make things easy for the groom* ----- ^{***This will be the end of my entry and I will like to invite***
