It is a very well-known fruit tree in our country. English name: Papaya Scientific name: Carica papaya. Papaya originated in South America (Mexico and surrounding areas). Papaya trees have three types of flowers, male flowers, female flowers and bisexual flowers. The flowers are usually white or light yellow in color. Rich in vitamins A, B, C, raw papaya contains a lot of the enzyme papain, which helps in digestion. It is rich in fiber. Flowers and fruits come within 6-9 months of sowing. Light sandy-loam soil is best for papaya cultivation.
