Just as I do every day, I am delighted to return and _{share with you a collection of photographs that capture a moment of extraordinary beauty. Today, my journey took me to the edge of a quiet canal, a place teeming with life and painted in the most spectacular shades of green. The centerpiece of this stunning landscape is, without a doubt, the canal itself. However, you might not recognize it as a waterway at first glance. It has been completely transformed by a thick, lush carpet of water hyacinths, or kochuripana as we call it locally. The plants are so dense that they form an unbroken sea of vibrant green, stretching from one bank to the other. It looks less like a canal and more like a verdant meadow, a living mosaic that ripples gently with the unseen current beneath. The sheer abundance of this green blanket creates a powerful sense of serenity, muffling the sounds of the world and leaving only a profound stillness in its wake.

Framing this emerald expanse are the magnificent trees that line the banks. Their leaves, in countless shades of green, from the bright, almost-yellow of new growth to the deep, cool tones of the older canopy, create a rich and immersive environment. In the warm, late-afternoon light, the sun’s rays filtered through the branches, making some leaves glow as if lit from within. You can see the gentle play of light and shadow, adding depth and texture to the scene. The sky above, a canvas of soft blue and scattered white clouds, provided the perfect, gentle backdrop to the intense greenery below.

Their presence adds a sense of scale and a human element to the photograph, a reminder that we are but small observers in nature’s grand theater.

I’m so grateful to have been there to witness it, and even more so to be able to share it with all of you.}
